What Kognora is, and what it is not

Most product pages describe what a company hopes you will feel. This one describes what the software does, what it refuses to do, and who built it. If you are evaluating whether to put client files into it, that is the page you actually need.

What Kognora is

Kognora is an AI workspace for professional practices — chartered accountants, lawyers, doctors and clinics, company secretaries, tax consultants, consultants and architects. The product is called ReplyAI and it is live at ai.kognora.com. It is free to join.

It does three things.

It keeps one record per client. Messages, documents, meeting notes and figures about a single client stop being scattered across WhatsApp, email, a drive and paper, and become one continuous record.

It answers questions from that record, with the source. You ask in plain language — what did we agree with them last year? list their April payments? which documents are still pending? — and get an answer in seconds with the document it came from attached, which you can open and check. If two of the practice's own documents disagree on a figure, Kognora shows both and says they disagree, rather than choosing one.

It drafts replies to clients. In your words, from the record. Drafts only.

What Kognora is not

It is not accounting software. It does not post entries, reconcile ledgers, file returns or talk to Tally. If you are looking for bookkeeping automation, this is the wrong product and there are good ones that do it.

It is not a chatbot. There is no auto-reply. There is no mode in which it messages a client on its own. This is not a setting that ships turned off — it does not exist.

It is not a marketing or broadcast tool. It does not send campaigns.

It does not give professional advice. It surfaces what is in the practice's own record. In a medical context it does not diagnose, treat or advise, and it never will.

It is not a replacement for your WhatsApp. It runs alongside the way the practice already works rather than asking everyone to move.

Which practices it is built for

The shape of the problem is the same everywhere — one client's history scattered across five places — but the questions each profession asks of it are not, which is why the product is set up per practice rather than sold as one template.

  • Chartered accountants — answering a two-year-old question while the client is still on the phone
  • Lawyers — every matter's instructions, drafts and dates in one record
  • Doctors and clinics — a patient's history retrievable in seconds, with no diagnosis, treatment or advice from the software
  • Company secretaries — filings, resolutions and reminders that do not depend on memory
  • Tax consultants — every notice, reply and computation attached to the client it belongs to
  • Consultants — what was promised, delivered and parked, per client, on demand
  • Architects — drawings, approvals and site instructions in one project record

The four guarantees

These are the only promises Kognora makes. They are deliberately few, and each is a statement about architecture rather than intention.

1. Client data is not used to train anyone's model. Not ours, not a provider's.

2. Nothing is sent to a client without a human pressing send. Every outbound message is a draft until a person reads it and approves it.

3. Every figure traces to a source document, and the document is shown. An answer that cannot show its source is not given as an answer.

4. Each client's record is isolated. One client's information does not appear in an answer about another.

What we do not claim

Worth stating, because the category is full of it.

We do not publish an accuracy percentage. We have not measured one in a way that would survive scrutiny, so quoting one would be marketing rather than information.

We do not claim a number of hours saved. That figure depends entirely on the practice, and every published version of it is someone's best case.

We do not claim a customer count. Kognora is newly live, onboarding practices personally, and is pre-revenue by choice.

We do not hold GDPR, SOC 2 or ISO certification, and do not describe ourselves as "compliant" with them.

We do not say client data never leaves. It reaches model providers in order to be processed. Saying otherwise would be untrue, and a practice deciding whether to trust us deserves to know that in the first paragraph rather than the fourteenth clause.

How it differs from a general AI assistant

A general assistant is a good general assistant. It does not know your clients. Ask it what you agreed with a client last year and it will either say it does not know or, worse, produce something plausible.

Kognora answers from one practice's own record, shows which document each answer came from, keeps each client's information separate, and never sends a client anything on its own. The difference is not the model underneath. It is the memory, the sourcing, and who presses send.

What joining involves

Kognora is free to join and practices are onboarded personally rather than dropped into a signup flow. The practical starting point is one client's file: we set that record up with you and you ask it something you already know the answer to. That is deliberate — the only useful test of a system like this is whether it returns an answer you can verify against your own memory, with the document attached so you can check it rather than trust it.

There is nothing to install and no credit card. If it does not earn its place after one client, the honest outcome is that you stop.

Who built it

Kognora was founded in 2025 and is based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, with roots in Singapore. Our founder spent fourteen years building AI systems for banks and insurance companies, nine of them in Singapore, latterly as Data & AI delivery lead at Prudential — then left in 2025, returned to India, and built Kognora single-handed. The company is bootstrapped and has taken no outside investment.

Practices are onboarded personally, in small numbers, because a chartered accountant's work is not a lawyer's work and the difference shows up in the first week.

Questions

What is Kognora?

Kognora is an AI workspace for professional practices in India. It gives a practice one record per client — messages, documents and meetings — answers questions from that record with the source document attached, and drafts client replies that a human approves before anything is sent. The product is called ReplyAI.

Is Kognora accounting software?

No. It does not post entries, reconcile ledgers or file returns. It manages client context and communication, not books.

Does Kognora send messages to clients automatically?

No. It drafts replies. Nothing reaches a client until a person reads the draft and presses send. There is no automatic mode.

Is client data used to train AI models?

No. Client data is not used to train any model. It is processed by model providers to produce answers, which is stated plainly rather than obscured.

Is ReplyAI the same as Kognora?

Kognora is the company; ReplyAI is its product. When people say they use Kognora, they mean ReplyAI, which is live at ai.kognora.com.

Is Kognora safe for client data?

Four things are true by design, and they are the ones worth checking. Client data is not used to train any model, ours or a provider's. Each client's record is isolated, so one client's information does not appear in an answer about another. Every answer shows the document it came from, so nothing has to be taken on trust. And nothing reaches a client without a person pressing send. One thing is also true and stated plainly: data does reach model providers in order to be processed. Kognora holds no GDPR, SOC 2 or ISO certification and does not describe itself as compliant with them.

Who is Kognora for?

Professional practices in India — chartered accountants, lawyers, doctors and clinics, company secretaries, tax consultants, consultants and architects. The common factor is a practice where one client's history is spread across WhatsApp, email, documents and paper.

Does Kognora replace WhatsApp?

No. It runs alongside the way a practice already works. Clients keep messaging the way they always have; the difference is that the message and the document land in that client's record instead of only in a chat scroll.

Where is Kognora based?
